that was a terrible terrible tragedy. I don't know how any person could mistake live ammo for blanks- I think it was malicious.
Yeah, probably a bit callous of me to use it to make fun of the French. I couldn't help myself.
And I agree I don't see how you could make such a mistake. I have no personal experience, but I'd assume it's pretty damn obvious to tell whether you've loaded blanks of live ammo into a weapon.
I don't think it was callous at all! I think it was accurate. This is what happens when you take a gun ignorant society and give someone a false sense of authority and a firearm.
same thing as that guy who shot himself right after saying 'he was the only one professional enough to handle a glock 40 in the room' or some such crap.
The only problem is Darwin lets good people get hurt in these instances, and doesn't thin the genetic herd on the right end.

Yup, just like drunk drivers. They almost always end up killing/maiming someone other than themselves.
