Robb has a piece entitled "And Spoons Make You Fat." Our wonderful "Progressive" Don Viti / Delaware's Toughest Blogger / Delaware's Brilliantest Blogger was unable to wrap his head around my spoon/gun analogy, nor was he ever able to offer a counterargument more substantive than "You're wrong."
He really needs to read Robb's post. A snippet of his continued ignorance can be seen here.

Choice of title was very, very much intended.
how about not wrong just dumb.
but go ahead and try that analogy on the rest of the thinking public and you tell me if you get laughed off the street.
Aw, Don can't come up with a valid rebuttal so he just slings an insult.
Isn't that cute?
And Don, I've managed to change quite a few "progressive" minds with that exact analogy. Seems that when you're actually face to face with someone, it's harder to hide behind childish insults and you have to at least pretend to listen.
I disagree. It's an analogy not a fact so I can stand by my opinion that it is dumb. Just because you think some idea is brilliant doesn't mean it truly is. Equating a spoon to a gun and telling me they are both pieces of metal and in an unused state are exactly the same is dishonest.
their purposes are entirely different.
ergo I stick to my assesment that spoon is to gun is a horribley ignorant dumb juvenille analogy.
DBB - It's an analogy based upon basic fact. The analogy is by no means "dishonest," in fact it's logically irrefutable.
Both are objects, both cannot ACT without conscious human manipulation and intent. An inanimate object does not posess intent nor can it spontaneously manipulate itself.
Therefore, in an "unused state" they ARE exactly the same as far as ability to do harm is concerned.
Without a human being, intent, and conscious manipulation objects, gun or otherwise, cannot "Do" anything. Sit a loaded gun on your nightstand and tell me when it jumps up and kills someone all on it's own.
go ahead and try that analogy on the rest of the thinking public and you tell me if you get laughed off the street.
Thinking public. What a joke, and not a very funny one. Kinda like "reality based community" as defined by you leftists. I am reminded of the words of the great Bill Whittle:
"Reality told them it was just going to the bathroom, when in point of fact Reality left these Leftists alone at the table without paying the check, and it hasn't returned their phone calls, either.
"So they just don't even bother any more."
ergo I stick to my assesment that spoon is to gun is a horribley ignorant dumb juvenille analogy.
I wonder, am I the only one who sees the delicious irony in that statement?
I will take "reality based community" over "faith-based" any day my friend.
He was being sarcastic DTB, hence the "quotations." Delaware Liberal is about as far from reality as one can get. You bask in ignorance DTB, and you're proud of it.
That's exactly why you can't refute arguments with facts and logic. Instead you use emotion and insults. The reality is you have no choice, because if you use facts & logic your "arguments" collapse.
What should we consider Delaware Liberal? A "Emotion and Ignorance Based Community?"
And Don Viti / DTB / DBB what's up with constantly changing your handle?
"faith-based"
Really? And what makes you think I automatically cast my lot in with those you deride with that tag? Don't know much about my political beliefs, do you, Scooter?
Emotion and Ignorance Based Community?"
That would be my vote.
"ergo I stick to my assesment that spoon is to gun is a horribley ignorant dumb juvenille analogy."
Simply calling something "ignorant, dumb, juvenile" doesn't make it so. Here in the real world (and on my blog) we qualify assertions with facts, background information, & logic.
"Aw, Don can't come up with a valid rebuttal so he just slings an insult."
He slings insults, get's pissy, and then disappears from the debate. Those are actions fit for an immature child.
