Quote Of The Day

“I am new enough on the national political scene that I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views.”

-From Obama's book "The Audacity of Hope"

Hey, at least he's honest about being an empty suit. Personally I'm continually amazed that running on a "Hey guys, I'm new, I have no experience and no hard & fast principles" actually works for Obama. The man has risen this far with nothing but rhetoric masking extreme socialist ideals. (read his "Blueprint for Change") Honestly, I understand why McCain has little respect for Obama. Respect is earned, and quite frankly Obama has no serious accomplishments as a U.S. senator.

Why do I feel like, when I see him, that he's an "insert name here" type of politician.

You have to admit though that "no experience" can also mean "outsider." I think a lot of people like that about him because they realize that means that he didn't have time to become indebted to peers for votes he needed on legislation. He didn't have time to garner enough clout to become a talking head of various special interest/lobbying groups. He can be seen as a "regular guy" who thinks outside the box. It's a good persona to have with the state of politics in this country at this given time.

I suspect he will be hard to beat. Experience seems to be a dirty word in some circles these days.

Except for the fact that he's a product of what is arguably the most corrupt political arena in the country. Chicago.

I'll take "experience" anyday over blind idealism with a socialist background.

Change is good, but not when it's just a regression back to socialist policies that have failed everywhere they've been implemented.

If you substitute the word "persona", and replace it with the word "strategy", it would be more accurate and believable.

Hey,

I just wanted to say, "Damn, you can argue like a CHAMP". Just finished reading some of your comments over that DL....AWESOME. And your age doesn't mean jack! Your age enhances the fact that the "aged" are ridiculous over there.

Not just an empty suit, but also more than a little bit of a narcissist...

"A bit of a narcissist"

That might be the understatement of the century. I thought Al Gore & Clinton were "Me Me Me!" politicians, but Obama brings it to a whole new level.

The man didn't go visit troops at the DOD hospital in Germany because the press & his campaign staff weren't allowed to tag along.

Fire - I'm now convinced the DL folks have gone completely off the reservation.
