Quote of the Day

“Jack’s proposals are about our families, about our children and about our future..... You can’t have stronger families without safer children, and the protections Jack will support as governor will keep guns out of the hands of criminals and out of the hands of children. These are common-sense steps Delaware must take to ensure that firearms do not land in the wrong hands.”

-Brady Campaign Founder Sarah Brady

Looks like she's ecstatic about potentially having a gun-grabbing governor. Just look at how buddy buddy she and Jack Markell are already.

(Sadly my comment on Markell's blog had some glaring grammatical errors. I've got to remember to proofread before I hit submit.)

You know, if that was really their motivations, I might almost grudgingly admit some degree of respect for them - granted, she is lying through her teeth in that quote, just as the Brady Campaign always does, but it was still a nice thought.

Sadly, it is not their role, nor the government's role, to make anyone's children safer. Furthermore, nothing the Brady Campaign proposes will actually make anyone safer. But, then, their campaign was never really about safety, was it...?

I especially loved this part.

"the protections Jack will support as governor will keep guns out of the hands of criminals and out of the hands of children."

Wilmington has had a rash of shootings recently, some committed by children as young as 9. Aren't there already laws about children and guns? Oh yeah, a whole bunch of em? Against murder, assault, robbery etc.

And no, they're not about making people safer, they're about making people FEEL safe and disarming the rest of us.

There are some really bad areas of Wilmington breeding really bad people. Some of them just start younger than others.

They hide their agenda under the guise of safety. People who aren't in the know buy into this crap.

It's infuriating.
