Sweet Jesus!

Yesterday Ammoman said they were ~5 days behind on orders. Usually if I order a case of ammo from them I've got confirmation and a tracking number the same day. It usually arrives at my house in 2-3 days.

Today Ammoman's site has the following message

"AMMOMAN.COM WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY NEW ORDERS FOR A DAY OR TWO WE ARE 2000 ORDERS BEHIND AND NEED TO CATCH UP WE WILL NOT BE TAKING PHONE OR FAX ORDERS WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ANSWER THE PHONES IT MAY TAKE UP TO 3 DAYS OR MORE TO ANSWER YOUR E-MAILS PLEASE BE PATIENT AND WE WILL BE WORKING SATURDAY AND SUNDAY TO CATCH UP WE WERE GETTING UP TO 800 ORDERS A DAY AND THAT'S JUST TOO MUCH FOR US THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING"

Good lord! Did everyone in America decide to start stockpiling ammo yesterday? I guess it's safe to say no one really believes Obama's BS about respecting the 2nd Amendment.

I wonder what it'll be like on January 19th 2009?

Yeah tell me about it.

So it looks like it'll be an extra week or so before I can get that 1/2 case of 5.56 to you.

Oh, and he raised the price $10 since I bought it. Looks like I snuck in right on time.

He's not the only one. Yesterday AIMSurplus said they were running a few days behind on processing/shipping. Today tehir website says they're running 2 WEEKS behind.

hey, no worries on when you'll get it to us. i still haven't decided on my upper and stock combination (i think he's decided on his), and we still need to pick up the lowers. supposedly they might get the paperwork back tomorrow...maybe.

just let me know when you want to come out and we'll go from there. j00 have the number.

I'll let you know when I decide to head down.

What do you mean you still haven't picked them up? Does MD have a waiting period?

As far as stocks. I have a crappy cheapo plastic standard M4 stock. My brother has either the Magpul PRS or CTR stock. I think it's the CTR. Much more comfortable than my crappy stock.

yerp, 8 day waiting period on controlled firearms. half hour (to process paperwork) for shotguns. LAME.

i'm trying to avoid cheapy ones...i'd like to buy once and leave it at that. kindof leaning toward an adjustable stock.

Well as you know I got my entire rifle for ~$550. The stock is the standard 4-position collapsible, but it's cheap plastic and not that comfortable. A rubber buttpad would probably help.

What A PITA buying stuff in MD. I'm in and out of my FFL in 20 minutes tops, and it's only that long because we end up chatting. I still love that I can walk to the guys house.
