And the article she links to in today's post has a passage that perfectly fits with my thoughts on the issue. I've read, "On Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs" in the past, but probably not in the last year. Anyway, the passage I most remember from Grossman's piece is as follows,
“Do you have any idea how hard it would be to live with yourself if your loved ones were attacked and killed, and you had to stand there helplessly because you were unprepared for that day?”
