So Many Posts.....

So little time.......

There's been lots to blog about recently, but I just haven't had the time to really write any substantive posts. I actually saw the article Sebastian discusses here about Markell, but haven't had the time to write up a post.

Needless to say I'm glad we have quite a few pro-gun folks in the State Legislature. Markell is what I and every other gun owner in this state expected him to be, a gun grabber. Aside from "may-issue" CCW and a few other things I quite like this state as far as gun laws are concerned. With this asshat in the Governor's office it looks like we've got a fight on our hands to keep it that way.

I'll have more on Markell's specific plans later. It sure looks like he's buddy-buddy with the Brady's. Doesn't he know he's tying himself to a sinking ship?

I'm going to thoroughly enjoy shooting off a few letters and watching each and every one of Markell's inane proposals go down in flames.

Mike what's the story on the king v Nordyke thing? I am completely unaware on this case.

Haven't had a chance to put a post up yet, but basically the 9th circuit ruled AGAINST Nordyke but said that the 2A did apply to the states via the 14th Amendment.

I've been crazy busy at work and haven't been able to do more than skim the decision thus far.

Since it's a 9th circuit case that means it only applies to states in that circuit and is not binding against courts in other states. That said, it can and will be used as dicta / reference in future cases in other districts.

Keep in mind that like Heller this could be good for us. We have the 9th circuit saying it applies to the states now. Assuming that Nordyke itself doesn't go to the SCOTUS it will be helpful in the event that we see a ruling in another district that says the 2A isn't incorporated. Circuit splits make it much more likely that the SCOTUS will take interest in the issue.

I'll have a more detailed post on it later.
