I will soon be the proud new owner of a 1911. My 1st 1911. I suppose I should have purchased it exactly one month ago instead of today, but hey, better late than never.
I'm doing the happy dance in my head despite the sticker shock.*
*but not the Elaine dance...
If you've been living under a rock, 1911's have been the topic of much discussion of late. Don't worry though, this one is not a miniscule, MIM filled Kimber.

Is it a SIG?
A colt?
It's not a Kimber, is it? That would make Tam cry...
;)
Bluesun - Not a Sig. I don't know if Sigs 1911s are better now, but I seem to recall the GSR having tons of issues a few years back.
Caleb - Nope, not a Colt.
Jay - No, not a Kimber.
I'll post when I get it. Probably next week sometime.
S&W?
Heh, nope, not a S&W either Weer'd.
Rock Island Armory.
A Taurus PT1911 special built in .410/.357 Sig?
I bet I know what it is. But I shall remain silent. ;-)
I'm going to guess SA. Of course, pretty much everything else has already been guessed, but I think I would have said SA regardless.
Oh, and congrats!
Whatever it is, shoot the crap out of it :).
You got that DW didn't you? EPIC. Can't wait to hear about it!
iiiii know what it iiiiiiiiiiissssssss.
Hopefully you will succeed where I have failed. I purchased many of the 1911s the other folks have mentioned. Each one fell short of my expectations. I finally found the Nighthawk line of 1911s. I bought the Predator. I finally found the ONE. I only use it now. All other brands just do not stack up against them (and no, this is not a "paid" endorsement!)
Bill - Awesome. I wish I could afford something on par with a custom Nighthawk, Les Baer etc.
STI Spartan?
Notice he's being silent about the .357 Sig. I bet Wally milled the barrel for him!
I pick the gun up today. You shall all find out soon. I will say that someone in this thread guessed the manufacturer correctly.
