One of the great things about becoming a gun owner, or in McCrum's case, interacting with gun owners, is that it forces you to reevaluate stereotypes and prejudices. I don't know how many times someone has found out I own guns and their reaction was "wow!, really? I would never have expected that!" because in their mind I'm not what they picture as a "typical gun owner."
