My fellow American's are unreal! They want that which they cannot have. That's the problem with massive entitlement programs. They breed dependency and a sense of "gimme, gimme, gimme" entitlement. Imagine how much better off the U.S. economy would be if you could keep 8% more of your earnings each year and your employer could keep the 8% he pays out of your payroll tax?
Social security is nothing but a legalized ponzi scheme. It was legalized theft instituted by a power hungry Socialist in the White House. Old follks who've paid in all their lives now feel entitled to get something back, while young folks feel cheated, knowing damn well they're not going to see returns in old age.
The question is, how do you dismantle such a system without pissing off large voter blocks? How do you do it without totally screwing one group of Americans? No one wants to do what should be done, what needs to be done, because doing so would be political suicide.

Any politician who even hints that Social Security will get cut will find himself out of a job, possibly dead. This is why we will go down with this ship.
The financial system of this country is doomed to failure, and I believe that we have already passed the point of no return. It is only a matter of time, now.
