Yes, I am a dirty capitalist

There is now a "Donate" button on the right hand side of this blog. Why is it there? Well why not? This is America, land of capitalism. (at least for now) If you like what you read here enough to drop a nickel in the tip jar then by all means go for it!

Begging for money does not make you a Capitalist.

Sell subscriptions instead. That would make you a Capitalist, albeit a poor one.

If you'd looked just below the "donate" button you might've seen two separate text ads which I was paid to put there.

I suppose I expect too much from you.

I provide content here which some folks enjoy. Stating that "If you like what you read here enough to drop a nickel in the tip jar then by all means go for it!" is not begging.

I'm providing a service and saying "if you like what you see, drop me some cash." Something is being provided and money is changing hands. That's much like a street musician who stands and plays with a money tin next to him.

He provides a service which people might decide to pay him for. That differentiates him from someone who just sits on the street with a sign that say "I'm poor, need money."

I'm not surprised you fail to understand the distinction, but then I didn't write this commenet for your benefit. I wrote it for my other readers.

Oh, please. You are begging for money, just like that homeless guy who plays the guitar at the metro station in DC.

You just have an on line hat.

To be sure, a couple of people enjoy the music, and drop a nickel in the hat.

Most just wish he would stop making noise.

Capitalism is about meeting pent up demand. It's not about bothering people until they feel guilty about your plight and throw a few coins your way.

I have to love that another anti-gunner has taken to the standard tactics they always do.

Attack the person, levy insults, and generally say stupid shit in hopes of getting a rise out of the other person.

I am not even remotely surprised that an authoritarian statist and proud collectivist lacks an understanding of the term "capitalism"
