Hoppity hop hop

My sister and her boyfriend recently tried Dogfish Head's 120 Minute IPA on their last trip to the brewery. They raved about it and I now realize I'll have to make a trip down state to pick up a couple bottles (at $8+ per bottle! Ouch!)

Drink With the Wench calls it the "Holy Grail for Hopheads" and commenter 1winedude calls it "the Chuck Norris of hoppy beers" so given that I'm somewhat new to IPA's maybe this isn't the smartest thing I'll ever do. Oh well, I'm all for pushing the envelope and trying new stuff, and this is one of my New Year's resolutions afterall.

It's 20% ABV and ~450 calories, so I think one in a sitting will do just fine.

Sadly, as the Wench points out in her post, 120 minute has been deemed too awesome by the State of Ohio, making it damn near impossible for some hopheads to get.

Let us know how it is. I've had the 90 min, and its hands down the best IPA I've ever had.

I completely agree. 90 Minute is great! I also LOVE the Burton Baton which is an oak aged Double IPA.

Will let everyone know how it is once I've tracked down a few bottles.

I've had a few bottles of the 120 and its way too sweet for me. I think they added too much malt to "support" the hops. I quite like the 60 and 90 minute though.

Oh yeah forgot to add. Its better, read less sweet, after aging it for a year(left it sit in a room thats 40 in the winter and 60 in the summer).
