Help me out here blogosphere folks. I am going to be getting Lasik eye surgery done soon so the time is near for me to make some decisions. I can't decide for the life of me whether to get traditional LASIK where they cut the corneal flap or go with EPI-LASIK.
Opinions anyone? Any readers who have had Lasik your input / experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of Epi-Lasik. According to a quick web search it is for people who have thin corneas, and you still get your cornea cut.
If you are worried about the cornea slice and dice, don't be. I went through it and so did my wife. It's not that big a deal. It sounds a WHOLE lot worse than it is.
My doctor was in Wilmington, DE and I would not hesitate to recommend him.
I have thin Corneas- Epi-lasik wasn't available when I had mine done (probably 4-5 years ago now- I was 22 or 23 when I got diced). I had a surgery like LASIK called ZYOPTIX. I have no regrets. I am now 20/20 minus, been holding that since about a year out from the surgery. Shooting was odd at first- especially archery. Took my eyes nearly a full year to settle in.

Epi is a newer procedure. Less risk, no corneal flap, but also longer recovery times. Right now I'm leaning towards traditional lasik, since I also happen to have massively thick corneas.
Mike - Thanks for the input! I have horrible vision. 20/40 or so in the right eye, but my left eye the "E" is blurry. I'm just sick of glasses.
Yeah, not sure if I heard of the epi-lasik before, but the basic lasik procedure was really simple, easy to go through, and honestly, fun :) You get to *see* your vision improving.
Wish I did it 10 years ago, except of course, the technology got better in that time.
before surgery, you had to point me at the chart. I couldn't see it- let alone make out the E.
I had Lasik first, on both eyes, then my vision regressed especially in the right eye. Had the right eye re-done. Vision regressed in BOTH eyes (though to be fair, I had a pregnancy with gestational diabetes during that time, which can affect vision). In 2008, four years after my initial surgery, I had PRK done, and have had no problems since. Perfect vision, Baby! And I used to be blind as the proverbial bat.

I got traditional LASIK a few years back, and it remains the very best thing I've ever done. My vision has stayed at about 20/15. The only thing I would say is it's impossible to over-spend when you've only got one set of eyes (like most of us tend to). Get any "upgrades" they offer.
