"Taking a new shooter out is one of the best things we as gunnies can do..... When some anti tells them guns are evil and only meant to kill, they will know better. I think if we all commit to taking just one new person shooting a year and making it a fun experience, it will be the best insurance we could have in protecting our Second Amendment freedoms."
- John Richardson
John couldn't be more right. I'm not going to come out and say that bringing someone to the range is going to turn them into a full blown 2A activist, but it sure as hell will tear down some of their fears and preconceived notions about guns that they've learned from the anti-gun liberal media. It's even more effective if you're bringing kids, since they're more likely to have an open mind and less likely to have been totally indoctrinated into the "guns are bad" culture.

I have taken some newish shooters to the range recently. A former co-worker and her 15 yo daughter. And a neighbor who is working on a doctorate in criminology. If they go again I may blog it.
Just one? I'm working on my 6th newbie this year. I think it's a great idea, though. If everyone introduced just one person to the fun, well that would double our ranks right there. And, of course, don't just introduce them, teach them the right way so they are an ambassador.
