Looking Forward

Hopefully things will start getting back to normal around here shortly.  My classes are over next week and don't start up again until July.  Even then, I'm only taking one online class over summer session, so at least I won't have to deal with the extra commute and long hours again until next fall.  Working full time and going to school is a pain in the ass, but I'm making it work and doing well.

We finally hired a replacement for my officemate at work.  She's younger than me, also a Delaware Political Science grad, and pretty quirky.  I hope she sticks around, because I really don't want to go back to doing 1.5 peoples work.

On her 2nd day a work buddy popped in to see when I was done school.  He's been wanting me to take him shooting.  My new officemate is from Maryland, and upon hearing this conversation says "Oh, so you own guns?"  Here I am thinking "uh oh" but instead I got "Oh, I've always wanted to try that!"  So it looks like I've got yet another newbie to bring sometime this spring.

Honestly, I can't wait to have some free time.  I want to bring some newbs to the range, go shooting, and I fully intend to spend some time soon just sitting on the beach with my dog, drinking Dogfish Head and reading a book.  Maybe I'll even hop in my car and make a trip westward.  We'll see.

Funny how that works!

I've had that "uh oh!" feeling a lot, and never has it been justified.

People like to shoot. They also generally are OK with gun rights, just many have never really thought about it yet.

Good work!

Yea my boss came in our breakroom found me eating lunch and reading shotgun news. Thats when i found out she is very anti gun. I spent the next 20 mins listening to her tell me how bad guns are and how I'm more likely to get myself or my family killed with them. She didnt take it to well when i started laughing. Maybe its time to take a vacation myself and hope she forgets about it.
