It looks like he actually did have injuries consistent with the story he told police. The media, of course, tried to cover this up and claim he had no head injuries consistent with Trayvon Martin bashing the back of his head on the pavement.

I think the Elephant in the room everybody is ignoring is that never once has a finger of blame has been specifically pointed at Sanford PD's investigation of this case.
You know they have been forthright with their information, and never once has any incompetence or unprofessional behavior been mentioned.
I think its safe to infer that Florida State Police, and the FBI looked at the SPD investigation and found they did a good job, and were probably quite justified in not charging Mr. Zimmerman after that night, and then arrested and charged him for political reasons only.
