Short, sweet, and to the point. It is also something that's been proven true throughout all of human history. Historically, how have things gone for those who allowed themselves to be disarmed? Even if those who wanted to do the disarmament did not do so with malice, malicious action was taken against the disarmed in virtually every case I can think of.
If you want me disarmed I don't trust you, and I have good reason not to.
