Why fight?

Because anti-gun bigots never ever stop trying to restrict our rights.

Maryland Democrat Brian Frosh on the fact that his proposed infringements on the rights of Maryland residents got shot down,

"I'll bring them back next year"

Anti-gunners never stop trying to take away our rights. Not ever. We gain nothing by sitting down to "compromise" with them. They talk "compromise" yet there is never any talk of what they want to give up. There is no common ground between our sides nor should there ever be.

Like NRA President Wayne Lapierre said recently,

“Why should I or the N.R.A. go sit down with a group of people that have spent a lifetime trying to destroy the Second Amendment in the United States?”

I would no more expect pro-gunnies to sit down and "compromise" with the Obama administration than I would expect the NAACP to sit down and "compromise" with the racist bigots of the KKK. We would have nothing to gain from such an exchange. You cannot, nor should you compromise with someone who has absolutely no respect for your rights.

As for the anti-gun bills that were defeated, good riddance. The MSP having regulatory powers over the licensing of gun dealers would be very bad news for Maryland gunnies, since the MSP are notoriously anti-gun. The 10 round magazine limit was asinine, especially since Maryland already has some of the most draconian gun laws in the country.
