4/20

So it's 4/20, and my officemate had absolutely no idea what today was.  I have to say I find it hard to believe that a Jamacian in her 20's had never heard of 4/20 before.  Apparently anything is possible.

Happy 4/20!**  Damn, I kinda want to go play Ganja Farmer* now.  That game was addictive!

As for my personal opinion on marijuana.  It should be legalized, or at a minimum decriminalized.  It's not particularly harmful compared to other legal vices and has some medicinal value.  The idea that it is a "gateway drug" is bullshit. Any truth that may have stems completely from the fact that one must enter the black market to get it, which means possible exposure to unsavory people who might have other, harder drugs avaliable.

Also, I can't tell you how many folks I knew who were habitual smokers who, when they had to take a drug test, get a job etc. after college were able to stop cold turkey without issues.  Try doing that with cigarettes or alcohol. 

*Ganja farmer was a really old computer game I used to play in Freshman Biology class towards the end of the year.  You were a Rastafarian who had to defend your pot crop from bombers and ATF paratroopers.  At the end of each level you toked up.
