No, my thumb was not on the trigger in the pic. Shiny is not always pretty.

My first pistol was a blued model 39 Smith.
In honor of that, I bought a polished nickel one, some years later, and put smooth rosewood stocks on it. Mostly as a joke.
My friends call it my pimp gun.
I never fired it.
And, I certainly wouldn't have carried it, even as a BBQ gun!
