My officemate here at the firm is afraid of guns. A few days ago she comes into work and says to me "Mike, you're gonna be proud of me!" Well it turns out that earlier this week she bit the bullet and handled a firearm for the first time ever.
I was happy to hear that the 4 rules were discussed and the firearm was handed to her unloaded with the action open. The next step she says? "A trip to the range to get over my fears." She recognized her fear and was willing to take steps to eliminate it. I'm proud of her. We're winning, one person at a time.
