Tolerant liberals support banning books

It's interesting to see that not only did Chicagoans support bannning books, they wanted books by conservative and libertarian authors banned.  Sarah Palin, unsurprisingly, received the most votes in favor of having her book banned.

I find the entire idea of banning books disgusting because it means the banning of ideas.  Then again, if you want your failed viewpoint / ideology to be the dominant one then I can see how you might support book banning.

Par for the course. Liberals don't support the right to keep and bear arms; what makes anyone think they'd respect free speech?

If they cannot control the message, they will try to squelch it. Pretty standard "progressive" tactic.

how can you talk abiut banned books that you probably read when you were younger. I don't think it's quite fair that they are banning books from the library. What is the point of kids learning things when you take away from what they want to read? You say harry potter is ruining your kids but you probably still let them see the movies. What is the point in banning books when you don't read them yourselves. That gets me so mad sit down and just read the Damn book you will probably like it.
