Quote of the day - unhinged leftists

"The tea party Republicans have engaged in economic terrorism against the United States -- threatening to blow up the economy if they don't get what they want. And like the al-Qaida bombers, what they want is delusional: the dream of restoring some fantasy caliphate in which no one pays taxes, while the country is magically protected from foreign attack and the elderly get government-paid hip replacements."

- Froma Harrop
One thing we consistently see with the left is this.  When they see a threat to their power and "progress" and they can't get what they want they simply throw tantrums and go apeshit.  Think my characterization is unfair?  Just look at how the liberal MSM has been acting in the wake of the debt ceiling crisis.

We engaged in the Democratic process the way a Representative Democracy does.  The Liberals didn't get everything they wanted (nor did the Tea Party) and now they're lashing out like petulant little children.

Of course Harrop also dishonestly claims that "The People Want Higher Taxes."  No, they most certainly do not.  Even according to her article and the polling she cites what they want to foist higher taxes upon "those other guys" (I.E. "the rich.")  Wanting to inflict higher taxes upon others is not the same as "the people want higher taxes."   What it is, however, is classic class warfare.  As we have seen throughout history those tax hikes will not increase revenue, particularly in an economic recession.
