Young People want to buy guns

Uncle linked to a study performed by professors at American University and Loyola Marymount which found that 60% of young Americans planned to buy guns.  That's great news, however that's not exactly how Professor Lawless of American University saw her findings.
"The next generation plans on owning guns, so if we want to avoid the tragedies that we’ve seen… we obviously need to move quickly and if an executive order is the way to do it, then that is the way the to do it”

Her response to finding out young people plan to buy guns and want to buy guns is telling.  It's ZOMG they want GUNS!??   We need to do something!  We must stop them!  Quash their freedom!  Oh, and if we can't do it legislatively, then screw the Constitution, we need Obama to stop these young people any way he can.

I wonder what Professor Lawless teaches?  I hope to hell it's not Constitutional Law.

Well, I know there's been a few "Young People" who came home from Iraq and Afghanistan and bought some Firearms.

Yup. I just had a friend of mine call me up and put her new boyfriend on the line. He recently got back and was asking where he could find a Beretta 92, mags etc. and where in DE he can go shoot.

Ironic that her name is "Lawless".

I'm 22 (almost 23) and I'm thinking doing some firearms safety training and buying a gun.

I hope all (sane) young people have the opportunity to go shooting, from target to trap and skeet it is a lot of fun!

The next generation plans on owning guns, but be careful some of them might turn out to be criminals if misguided.

It's OK for "young people" to carry assault rifles and high-capacity pistols while serving in the military (and whacking Bin Laden so Obama can grab the credit for it). But Heaven forbid those young people, after serving out their enlistments and returning home, should own similar weapons to protect themselves and their families.
