Quote of the Day - Harry Reid

"I'll vote for the ban because maintaining the law and order is more important than satisfying conspiracy theorists who believe in black helicopters and false flags,".... "I'll vote for the ban because saving the lives of police officers, young and old, and innocent civilians, young and old, is more important than preventing imagined tyranny."

- Sen. Harry Reid (D)

Ah, more of this Administration and it's backers denigrating those of us who flat out don't trust the Obama Administration.  These people tell us the Federal government is good, benevolent, and then dismiss and chastize those of us who are students of history.  That is, of course a fundamental difference between someone like myself and a leftist.  That is, do you believe government is a malevolent entity and necessary evil, or is it benevolent and caring?  A leftist more often than not sides with the government because they cannot even conceive of it being malevolent towards them and doing them harm.

How many lives have been saved by an assault weapon and magazine ban?  How many have been lost because they were disarmed and slaughtered by their own governments?  "Imagined tyranny" my ass.  Reid, Obama, Biden etc. are trying to piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.  They're liars, and they insult my intelligence.  Sadly, plenty of folks actually buy this stuff.  Politicians could tell them a pile of shit tastes like bacon and it's free and they'd eat it up.

"Imagined tyranny"? I remember when Bush was president, and Sean Penn said that censorship in the US was worse than in Nazi Germany. He said that on NPR, so the government not only allowed his comments, it subsidized them. Yet it's the NRA and Tea Party that are paranoid about the government. And when the Republicans regain the White House, the leftists will be the ones ranting against the government and promoting wild conspiracy theories.

To clarify: I mean the NRA and Tea Party are the ones who are accused of being paranoid about government. But liberals are the ones claiming that 9-11 was an inside job, that the CIA assassinated President Kennedy, and so on.
