Alan Gura is totally bitchin'

It looks like the man, Alan Gura, is not only fighting for my 2nd Amendment rights, he's also fighting for the free speech rights of craft breweriesFlying Dog Brewing Co. has sued the State of Michigan's Liquor Control Board on 1st Amendment grounds for their refusal to allow the sale of Flying Dog's "Raging Bitch" in the State.

Flying Dog brewery makes some decent brews. I'm a fan of the Old Scratch Amber Lager Their label art and beer names are pretty awesome too. Not to mention they're cool enough to quote Hunter S. Thompson on each bottle.  Try a few the next time you see some at your local liquor store.

Also, the fact that the liquor control board banned the sale of a beer because they didn't like the name & label art really exemplifies just how arrogant and out of control the petty tyrants in government really are.  What's next, are they going to ban Flying Dog's "Doggie Style Pale Ale" too?

Seriously folks, here's the label for Raging Bitch. The artwork is a little crazy but it's hardly anything objectionable unless your silly, puritanical sensibilities are offended by the word "Bitch."

I've yet to try Raging Bitch, but now I'm going to have to.  I think I'll buy some tonight.

Oh, I am SO going to go out and buy their beer now. I'd seen it, but always wandered over to my "old leghumper" from a little brewry in Ohio.

Doesn't anyone have a sense of humor any more?
