Just saw Obama's Interview on CNN

*barf*... terms like "shared sacrifice," "shared prosperity" and the idea that the betterment of the country works from the bottom up.

Yeah, he's not a socialist. Really. This man is so full of shit.

Look, the government can only give to some what it takes from others. There's no way to prop up the bottom without cutting the legs out from under those at the top. Most of the great atrocities of the last century have been perpetrated by governments who's goal was to create a great society by making people equal. Under every such government the goals and "rights" of society are paramount and the rights of individuals are, necessarily, thrown under the bus.

There is simply no other mindset that could be more destructive to society We've seen it before, and it inevitably tends to lead to destruction and death. Despite the lessons of history we still see it in the ideals of contemporary liberalism. You'd think by now we'd be wary of a persuasive, charismatic orator coming in and promising the world to a country dissatisfied with the current ruler.

I sometimes laugh when I hear people talk about social issues and how great they are. My fave is minimum wage.

"Well, have you seen how underpaid blankityblank employees are? They can't live on that." Maybe so, but if they can't live on $5 an hour, they can't live on $5.50 an hour either, and just where do you think the money comes from?

That makes them think. "The government!" - yeah, the government...sigh.

Seriously, I'm being taxed to death as it is, and I'm scared to see how much they're going to be increased when whatshisface gets into office. I think he or she is quite capable of bringing the economy to a screaching halt.

Hell, Obama said in an interview that he thought anyone making over 75K was "upper class"

The problems with minimum wage are obvious. Raise it and companies will do one of several things. 1. not profit and thus fail. 2. hire fewer workers 3. cut benefits / hours 4. raise prices of goods they sell.

I'd like to see us do away with federal welfare type programs completely as well as cease most foreign aid, particularly to the UN.
