So many seem to forget the tragedy that occurred on this day 7 years ago, and even more decided to politicize the anniversary. That's why when I left to go to work this morning I was pleasantly surprised. One of our neighbors had flown a flag at the entrance to the neighborhood. When I returned home that flag was accompanied by 4 small ones stuck in the dirt and another folded neatly and placed at the entrance.
Never forget, and remember that there will always be those who hate freedom. If we are to triumph over those people we must never forget. We must never forget what freedom means and. what sacrifice means. Most importantly, we must never forget to embrace freedom with hearts that promise eternal vigilance in its defense. If freedom dies within us, it dies forever.
Let us never forget the emotions we felt on that day, nor the deep loss and suffering that the families of those lost will never be rid of. I remember where I was on this day 7 years ago, and the emotions that I felt. I will never forget.
