Bad Gunnie!

You know you're a bad gun nut when you....

1. Have never been to a gun show

2. Do not own a wheelgun

3. Do not own a shotgun.

I really do need to remedy some of the above this year.

Speaking of wheelguns and shotguns, either of those would be nice to add to the collection.

Nice choice for revolver, as for the pump go wither Winchester or Mossberg

You haven't been to a gun show? We'll have to help you resolve that problem.

Most definitely. Let me know when there's one not too far from here.

Well, if you are ever down this way, there is a show about every month... 'course, Florida has much better shows, but I have no idea why, really.

Anywise, I just remedied my own shotgun lack myself just last month - I definitely recommend the 870 platform. Still do not have a wheelgun, though, and no real intentions of procuring one... unless it is a remake of Mal's piece.

I was shying away from a 12 guage because I've got a shoulder problem (though doctors seem unable to tell me exactly what's wrong with it...)

Scalawag - I still may look at something other than the Saiga. Not really planning to make a purchase anytime soon.

870 in 20 gauge maybe? I like the 870s over the mossberg line because the rails along the pump arm are heavier- I just think its a more robust design. also the remington line is much heavier, which will help control recoil with a bum shoulder.

as for the revolver- a 4in 357 is in my opinion, one of the best overall handguns you can own. not much it can't do!

They make the 870 in 20 gauge?

Falnfenix - I should be free that weekend. Let me know what day.

For a wheelgun, I heartily recommend the Ruger GP-100. I had a stainless 4" for a while there and loved it. I was a dumbass and sold it, though...

no prob. gotta remind Chris about it, anyway. :)

One word: Knoxx.

I have not had the chance to actually test it out yet, but I understand their recoil-absorption stuff is pretty nice.

yes- they do make 870s in 20 gauge- they also have youth models- not saying your short- but if you got a youth model with a short stock you could then add an additional slip on pad to bring you to normal length without over extending your length of pull.

870s

not a great price- but just to show you they are around.

GP100s rock- don't overlook used either though- many revolvers on the used market were bedstand guns that are nearly new. with a bit of shopping you could probably get your shotgun and your pistol for under 500 total.

PS you need to add reloading gear to your list of wants!

I really didn't have an affinity for much other than rifles and 1911s until the last couple of years.

I ended up more or less inheriting* a shotgun and actually didn't even shoot it for 2 years. Once I did, though, I wondered why it had taken me so long to warm up to a shottie.

I didn't turn into Mark Keefe overnight or anything, but now I want an autoloading shotty to go with the Winchester pump.

*depressing story actually

Linoge speaks the truth WRT the Knoxx SpecOps recoil-reducing stock.

You can even get one with an adjustable stock. In fact, I'm ordering one for my Mossberg 590...

Got a used HK Benelli M1 on gunbroker that is a joy to shoot.

I'm a big fan of used guns. Hell, I don't own a single gun that wasn't bought used.

Yeah Mike, along with a whole bunch of things, including a P220ST.
