Quote of the day - Government power

"A free market doesn’t stay free when government begins competing in it, and just the mere existence of the ability to use its regulatory power to favor its own operation will distort market behavior in significant and freedom-chilling ways. "

- Ed Morrissey of HotAir

Exactly.  Government is force, therefore they do not "compete" in the market by any true sense of the word.  They say, whether explicitly or otherwise, "do what we say or else."  They have no place "competing" in the market.
