Quote of the day - violent leftists protest

"What they did is they counted.  They actually had a countdown — 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 — they grouped together, they joined arms and they charged the police. They attacked the police. They wanted to get into Wall Street, they wanted to occupy Wall Street."

- NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly on the Occupy Wall Street protests the Left is having right now.

How long did I have to hear every talking head on the news exclaim how violent the Tea Party protestors were, when in fact there was no actual violence?

Also, you have to love the picture they used of the protestor with the sign reading, "I could lose my job for having a voice."  If he has a job why is he there instead of working?  Also, I could lose my job for "having a voice" too.  Free speech is just that, but that doesn't mean my speech can't end up having a negative impact on my employment.

There's a reason I blog under a pseudonym. My current job is relatively safe, but my previous one wasn't, and future ones may not be. I could very well lose my job for my voice, and know, off the top of my head, two bloggers who have. I'd love to write under my real name, but can't afford the risk right now, yaknow?
