Sorry folks

Been at the beach helping do this all day. There is way too much decking on this house.

I have retrieved the Dogfish Head Bitches Brew from down here, so expect a review sometime.

There may not be too much content here for a bit since I'm moving tomorrow (and probably in stages thereafter). Moving all my ammo is going to be a real bitch.

That's a very small portion of the deck.

Friday Funny

This one comes courtesy of my boss.

The results of cutting down too many trees!!!!!!

Quote Of The Day - Cuz It's My Blog

"I fuckin’ hate going to parties and making smalltalk with douchenozzles who’ve never held a well-reasoned opinion in their entire damn lives. I don’t mind folks who disagree who’ve done their homework, but if you’re just plain stupid, here’s a nice big mug of go fuck yourself, and I don’t care how many tears fall into it."

- Stingray, in comments here.

Why did I post this? Because it's Friday, it made me laugh, and this is my fucking blog. If you don't like it you can go fuck yourself.... ;)

You know what I hate? Small talk with random ass strangers in elevators. This does not apply to attractive females.

Quote of The Day - Rebellion

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical."

-Thomas Jefferson (January 30, 1787)

I suspect we'll see a little rebellion come next week, even with the inevitable cheating and ACORN / SEIU thuggery from the left.

Note To Republicans

Uttering the words "God is the reason I'm running" is not the way to win an election anywhere outside of the Bible Belt.

If Christine O'Donnell thinks that her faith in God helped get her where she is today that's fine. She is entitled to her beliefs. That doesn't change the fact that saying "God is the reason I'm running" is simply not a recipe for electoral success here in Delaware.

Statements like this also give even more easy fodder to the liberal media, who are already desperate to paint O'Donnell as a nutcase.

Quote of The Day - If Bush Had Said It

We don't mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back."

- Barack Obama

I guess Barry's got nowhere else to put folks but at the back of the bus these days.

Can you imagine if Bush had said something like this? The media would be screaming about how it was a racial remark. Y'know, for someone who was supposed to be a great speaker President Obama sure spends a lot of time making really dumb, tone deaf statements.

I guess this is what "transcending race" looks like.

This Guy Won A Nobel Prize?

Paul Krugman writes a piece where he claims that the reason the economy is in dire straits is because Obama and Congressional Democrats weren't "progressive" (read Leftist) enough.

Krugman also points out that historically, financial crisis lead to long periods of high unemployment even if the government steps in quickly. Perhaps Krugman's rose-colored glasses preclude him from seeing that government intervention might be directly contributing to high unemployment.

Krugman had this to say about the Federal stimulus programs,
" America needed a much stronger program than what it actually got— a modest rise in federal spending that was barely enough to offset cutbacks at the state and local level."

Modest?! The highest Federal budget deficits in U.S. history constitute nothing more than a "modest rise in federal spending." Not only was it "modest," but the problem was that we didn't spend enough! Wow, Paul must have a killer stash of Purple Haze.

He then goes on to make the standard "but it would've been worse" talking point,

"Yes, things are better than they would have been without the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act: the unemployment rate would probably be close to 12 percent right now if the administration hadn’t passed its plan"

Krugman makes a declarative statement that is unproven and has no factual basis. Saying that things would have been worse if X action had not been taken is impossible to prove. Remember that the Obama administration originally sold the stimulus as a way to keep unemployment under 8%. By the administrations own measure the stimulus was a failure. Oops!

Keep on puffing the magic dragon Paul. You and your liberal buddies are going to get crushed next week.

Again? More Violent Anti-Gunners

As more people carry more guns around to more places we will have more shootings, accidental and otherwise. Count on it. And some day when the nuts have all shot themselves in the face we can get back to having some sane gun laws in this country.

-SoBeale

I know, you're probably getting bored of this by now, but the intolerance and violent nature of anti-gunners like Mrs. Beale needs to be pointed out at every opportunity. They certainly have no shame about advocating violence against those they don't like.

Also, her 1st sentence is factually incorrect. Carry laws are becoming more and more lax and gun sales have seen record highs the last two years, yet violent crime rates continue to drop. After DC's gun ban was struck down by Heller their crime rates plummeted. Reality must be a hard pill for Mrs. Beale to swallow.

* You'll note that back in June SoBeale said almost the same thing I've quoted here. And people wonder why I don't respect violent bigots.

Quote Of The Day - Sad Collectivist

"Social understandings about citizens’ relationship with each other and their government depended on a norm of shared sacrifice, formed during the Great Depression and World War Two, until the late Seventies. Since then corporatists and racists have successfully promoted aggregating self-interested choices by individuals as a way of organizing society.

This has left the US populated by a citizenry that resists collective action of almost every kind that does not personally enrich them as individuals, depends on consumerism to support its economy, and divides us according to our lifestyle preferences.

Very few Americans can reasonably discuss necessary limitations on their self-interested choices, and this is indeed very sad."

- R. Stanton Scott

According to Stan the relationship between citizens and government has moved from one of "shared sacrifice" to one where citizens resist collectivism in favor of rational self-interest. Somehow this is a bad thing because we don't want to discuss "necessary limitations" on our personal choices?

If you've ever wondered why collectivism is entirely incompatible with individualism and individual liberty Stan's comment should make it clear for you. Basically, authoritarian collectivists like Stan are Sad Panda's because Americans (at least some of us) value our freedoms and don't like being told what to do by some elitist overlord.

I for one am quite happy to see Stan sad.

Kids and Guns

I just thought I'd mention that my 5 year old nephew* got to accompany my brother on his very first hunting trip recently. I'm not sure exactly when this was, but it was mentioned at last weeekend's soccer game. My oldest nephew is in middle school and has his own shotgun.

Kids, guns, responsible gun ownership and father / son bonding. That's what the "gun culture" is all about. Kids like to have fun, and as almost every newbie shooter will tell you "this is FUN."

Also, making Sarah Brady and the rest of the anti's cry is always fun, so take your kids shooting, teach them the four rules (or 2 rules) and grow the ranks of future gunnies.

*I think he's 5. I can never remember. With so many nephews and no nieces it's hard to keep track

Obama Justice Department Double Standards

The U.S. DOJ is investigating Tea Party poll watchers. This is the same Justice Department that swept an obvious case of voter intimidation by the Black Panthers under the rug.

Yup. No bias there, none at all. I'm sure Obama's Justice Department is completely colorblind.

BB & Guns - Learning From Liberals

Breda will be on the air tonight with guest co-host Stingray to talk about what they've learned from Liberals. Call in to BB & Guns and tell them what you've learned!

Personally I've learned that I don't have the stomach nor the empty void in my skull necessary to adhere to contemporary Liberalism.

Just Call The Police

Imagine you come home one night, enter your house with your 2-year old daughter, and a man in a ski-mask jumps out from behind your kitchen counter with a gun in his hand. You grab the phone to call 911 but the line has been cut. What do you do?

Casey Bartram defended his home and his daughter with a 9mm handgun, killing the masked burglar and sending his accomplice running.

Anti-gunners would prefer you run and cower with your family in a bedroom or closet, hoping that men with guns come in time to save you.

Liberal Ignorance - Delaware Senate Race

I mentioned Liberal ignorance in a previous post and thought that'd be a great segue into this post. If you read the news yesterday you know that the liberal MSM jumped all over Delaware Republican Candidate Christine O'Donnell's claim that "separation of church and state" is not found in the 1st Amendment.

Much like they did with Palin's 1773 statement, the left went on the attack and in the process exposed their own ignorance. When O'Donnell asks her opponent whether that phrase is in the 1st Amendment Coons answers "yes."

Read the headline of the Seattle Times article I linked to. They claim "O'Donnell gets a lesson on 1st Amendment." That is blatantly biased and incorrect. The term "separation of church and state" appears nowhere in the 1st Amendment. Another article states in the headline that O'Donnell questioned whether the Constitution prohibits the establishment of religion. That is misleading as well, since O'Donnell asked no such question.

From the same debate, we see that not only did the media incorrectly pounce on O'Donnell's factually correct statement, but they completely ignored Coons's demonstrated ignorance of the 1st Amendment. I'm quoting this because it's too good not too.

O’Donnell was later able to score some points of her own off the remark, revisiting the issue to ask Coons if he could identify the “five freedoms guaranteed in the First Amendment.”

Coons named the separation of church and state, but could not identify the others — the freedoms of speech, press, to assemble and petition —and asked that O’Donnell allow the moderators ask the questions. “

I guess he can’t,” O’Donnell said.

So Coons thinks that "separation of church and state" appears in the 1st Amendment but could name only the Establishment Clause but none of the other freedoms protected by the 1st Amendment? That is just sad.

Can you imagine if Sarah Palin, O'Donnell, or any Republican were asked to name the freedoms protected by the 1st Amendment and were unable to do so? It would be all over the web on CNN, ABC, MSNBC and the nightly news. Of course, since a Democrat did it the media completely ignores it and I have to read about it at Right Wing News and Michelle Malkin.

Update -

Here's an article on this from our local rag, The News Journal. I'm going to quote it too. Since you've now read to this point in my post see if you can figure out what they omitted. Yup. No bias in favor of Chris Coons from The News Journal, none at all....

"The two candidates repeatedly talked over each other, with O'Donnell accusing Coons of caving at one point when he asked the moderator to move on to a new question after a lengthy argument."

"I guess he can't handle it," she said.

Punking Themselves

As a general rule Liberalism (contemporary not Classical) is dependent upon ignorance, so this little brouhaha is not the least bit surprising.

You have to love it when a bunch of smarmy, arrogant, elitist liberals attack and mock Sarah Palin when a simple Google search would've cleared things up. Instead they pulled a Biden and shoved their feet in their mouths.

Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove no doubt. Gwen Ifill, Marko Moulitsas of Daily Kos* and the wonderfully intelligent liberals at Huffington Post have apparently never heard that saying.

Honestly folks, anyone with a basic knowledge of American history should immediately know what happened in 1773, particularly when the words were uttered at a Tea Party rally.

When have facts ever mattered to Liberals? Certainly not when they're frothing at the mouth waiting for an opportunity to call Sarah Palin a moron. Hell, remember liberals claiming that Bristol Palin got booed on Dancing With The Stars? That clearly wasn't the case, but it was an opportunity to attack Palin.

*Speaking of ignorance, Daily Kos, like Delaware Liberal and many other liberal sites, is a hotbed of ignorance. Sadly many of the folks at such sites would not recognize their own ignorance if you beat them over the head with a clue bat.

Drink Good Beer - Burton Baton

If you try one beer this year it should be Dogfish Head's Burton Baton.

Burton Baton is a blend of dogfish Head's excellent 90 Minute IPA with an oak aged English Strong Ale. This is done brilliantly, as the Burton tastes like two distinct beers with each sip.

The 1st time I had one I knew nothing about it and thought it tasted like a mix of 90 Minute and a bit of Palo Santo Marron, without the alcohol heat you get from the Palo Santo.

I like the 90 minute, but damn I'd stockpile a years supply of this stuff if I could. It's that good.

If you're a beer drinker this is one you don't want to pass up. Drink it with caution though. At 10% ABV it packs a punch.

Hand Grenades, RPG's & Gun Shows. Oh My!

Please Joan Peterson, tell me where oh where can I get hand grenades and RPG's. Which U.S. gun shows exactly? Personally I think it'd be pretty cool to own shit that blows up!

I'd ask where this moonbat comes up with the idea that we can get grenades & RPG's at U.S. gun shows, but then I remember that the Brady Campaign and the anti-gun media have been repeating that blatant lie for years.

H/T to Weer'd (who spelled divorce wrong)

Quote of The Day - Dr. King

"No human condition is more dangerous than a sincere ignorance and a conscientious stupidity. "

—Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I don't think any additional comments are necessary. Do you?

A Correction

I felt I should post a correction to my last post claiming that Joan Peterson is lying. It would be more accurate to say that she is making false statements.

I think Joe Huffman has it right when he says that a "useful idiot" like Joan is incapable of determining truth from falsity. She, and those like her have no objective basis on which they determine the veracity of any particular statement. I've often asked anti-gunners some variation of the question "On what rational basis do you make claim X?" They respond as if I've just asked them a question in Swahili.

If a person is incapable of engaging in a logical line of thought necessary to determine whether or not a statement is accurate can we really say that they are lying? Lying would imply that they know what they say is false and they say it anyway. In Joan's case she simply lacks the faculties necessary to engage in such thought.

If I have a dog and haven't trained him not to pee in the house I cannot very well be mad at him for peeing in the house. I can't get mad at him for being unable to do algebra either. I suppose I can't really be annoyed with someone like Joan Peterson (or MikeB) for their inability to think or to understand simple concepts.

Still, I have to admit that the lack of basic critical thinking skills Joan displays is a bit shocking. She has shown herself incapable of understanding concepts that my 5 year old nephew can grasp.

I pity her, but at the same time she shouldn't get a pass. Whether they're lying or not, folks like Joan need to be driven into irrelevancy so long as they're still spouting falsehoods, spewing bigotry, and advocating for the infringment of Constitutional rights. Bigot and Brady Board Member Joan Peterson, should be challenged and ridiculed no matter what.

Why We Win - Lying Anti-Gunners

I've always believed that one of the greatest resources us pro-rights folks have are the anti-gunners themselves. They will brazenly lie to push their agenda, which makes it all too easy to expose their lies.

Case in point, Brady board member Joan Peterson who spouts an easily refutable lie.

."We all know it's legal for felons and mentally ill people to purchase guns without background checks."

When Sean calls her on this lie she doubles down and repeats it, saying,

"It's not illegal for private sellers to sell guns to anyone without background checks at gun shows and elsewhere. That means felons and other prhobited purchasers. Don't play dumb, Sean. You know that is what I'm talking about."

It is in fact illegal per federal law to knowingly sell a gun to a felon or other "prohibited person." This holds true both at gun shows and anywhere else. Not only would it be a felony for the seller, it is also a federal felony for a prohibited person to make such a purchase.

As a matter of law I may not sell a firearm to a prohibited person. As a matter of law a prohibited person may not receive or possess a firearm. To claim otherwise when you've repeatedly been informed of the matter is nothing short of a lie.

Then again, the positions of anti-gunners have always been predicated upon dishonesty. Their positions crumble when exposed to facts and the truth.

The only person playing dumb here is Brady Campaign board member Joan Peterson.

Here In Delaware....

...I think I can actually hear Sarah Brady sobbing hysterically. Who knows what might have happened if Robb's youngest had actually hit the bullseye. They are Sad Panda's after all.

Hoplophobes everywhere are ending up like the martians in Mars Attacks. Way to go Robb!

Now you've just got to explain why you're wearing pants. It can't be that cold in Florida. ;)

Damn You Google, Damn You!

I meant to get a few posts done tonight but instead I ended up spending far too much time on 80's Tee's looking for a T-shirt I need for my Halloween costume.* Seriously, the entire website is made of win! There are just too many cool shirts to buy them all.

I laughed out loud at this shirt and the Chuck Norris t-shirts are hilarious. I am doomed!

*I still need suspenders and a pair of argyle socks.

For The Gun Geek

Cheesy bullet shaped USB flash drives. If they had an Apple logo I bet Alan would buy a few.

Thanks A Lot Barry

I just got an e-mail. Apparently President Obama has decided to grace us with his presence tomorrow. He'll be visiting the Grand Opera house here in Wilmington. That means traffic jams, street closures, and I might not be able to get to my usual free parking spot.

Thanks Barry! It's gonna be a fucking madhouse trying to get to work tomorrow morning and it's my day to bring breakfast for the firm. Friday is supposed to be a joyous day and you can't even let me enjoy that you soul-sucking Commie!

Europeans Cutting Taxes?

While liberals here in the U.S. keep clamoring about the need to soak the rich, the Dutch are responding to the worldwide economic downturn by doing the opposite.

They're lowering corporate taxes. Why you ask? Well, to "encourage entrepreneurship and innovation." You mean lowering taxes, particularly corporate taxes actually contributes to economic growth? Inconceivable! (if you're a liberal)

But it's not just corporate taxes. They're also lowering taxes tied to housing and even more shocking, they're lowering personal income taxes.
"To compensate for the higher healthcare contributions in 2011, the government plans to reduce personal income taxes by introducing a lower tariff in bracket one and to expand the bandwidths of the three brackets. "

Meanwhile the Swedes are doing the same thing, cutting corporate tax rates, lowering income tax, and gasp, making tax cuts permanent! Hmm, almost reminds you of Bush's tax cuts.
"As election day approached, it became clear just how effective his tax cuts had been. Unemployment never hit the forecast 10 per cent - it was 8 per cent in July and 7.4per cent in August. Two think tanks have confirmed Reinfeldt's assessment that his tax cuts have created some 100,000 jobs. The deficit was tumbling as the economy recovered."

Does anyone think that Democrats in the U.S. would even consider similar policies? No. They're mindless sheep chanting "Tax! Tax! Tax!, Spend! Spend! Spend! They're doing the opposite of the Dutch and Swedes, and while Swedish unemployment was lower than forecast the U.S. rate climbs despite the promise that government stimulus will keep it in check.

Taking more of our money, creating inflation, and burying the country under a mountain of debt is just the way to encourage entreprenuership and innovation and improve the U.S. economy, right? Apparently not, but then reality has never mattered much to Liberals. They'll just "Do it again, only harder!"

Government Healthcare

"One of Greece’s most respected newspapers, To Vima, reported that the nation’s largest government health insurance provider would no longer pay for special footwear for diabetes patients. Amputation is cheaper, says the Benefits Division of the state insurance provider."

So the Greek government has decided that diabetes patients will have their feet / legs amputated because orthodic footwear is too expensive! Ah government, making choices for you because, y'know, you're just too damn stupid to make these decisions on your own.

What the hell is going on here?! It's not the 1840's anymore. Medicine has evolved to the point where we don't just go hacking off limbs unless it is absolutely necessary. And by "necessary" I mean there's no other option and the patient will likely die or be worse off in the future without amputation.

In a free market if you had a provider saying they were going to start amputating the limbs of diabetes patients because it was cheaper than providing footwear what do you think would happen to that provider? Socialized medicine and Obamacare remove the free market aspect, and thus remove freedom of choice. (our current system is far from "free market" which is a huge part of the problem we're facing) Under the Greek system there is one government provider. Diabetes patients have no other choice. Such a situation is incompatible with individual liberty and it's exactly why we need to get rid of Obamacare.

My Mommom had diabetes for decades. She had special shoes, which I assume are similar to those discussed in the article. When she was in the hospital one of the discussions that had to make was whether or not to have the doctors amputate her leg at the upper thigh. Ultimately the decision was made not to have the surgery, but it was at all times a decision made by the patient and family, not by some faceless government paper pusher with an IQ of 50.

I'm glad I live in America and not some Socialist hellhole.

Quote of the Day - What Anti-Gunners Do

"They lie. They smear. They're bigoted. And they keep sayin' "Trust us."

Suuuuuure we should."

- Roberta X. - Laying into Joan Peterson, a dishonest bigot and Brady Campaign board member.

These days any idiot can start a blog. In Joan Peterson's case I'm glad to see her spew her ignorance and bigotry for all to see. Her bigotry, intellectual cowardice and outright lies are exactly what I'd expect from someone affiliated with The Brady Campaign.

Joan complains about being vilified. Bigots should be vilified. Bigotry against those who exercise a fundamental, enumerated Constitutional right should be exposed and vilified at every opportunity. Folks like Joan Peterson should have their lies challenged. They should be shamed into the shadows.

Giving Sarah Brady Fits

A 10 year old girl shoots an evil M1 Carbine "assault rifle,*" Sarah Brady cries, and bigoted anti-gunners like this woman go into fits.

This just brings a huge smile to my face!

*While the M1 Carbine was not banned under the 94' AWB, many proposed bans thereafter banned the M1 Carbine by name.

Hey Breda, was she as tall as you?

Updated - Thanks to Jeff in comments, who corrected my error. I originally stated that the M1 Carbine was banned under the 94 AWB. It was not, though HR1022 would have expanded the 94' law to ban it by name.

Quote of The Day - I Love Penis

"And what is it with you people and penis size? If you believe that gun owners own guns to compensate for the size of their wedding tackle, does your desire to disarm everyone mean you want yours cut off?"

-Kevin Baker

Did the post title get your attention? Good.

I laughed out loud at this bit by Kevin. I doubt the angry bigot wants his cut off. No, he wants everyone else's cut off so that he can be the "big boy" on the block.

I'd be interested to know exactly when and how the "gun = penis compensator" idea came into being. We could open carry our guns and our schlongs, just to remove all doubt as to our adequacy. Somehow I don't think that'd go over very well, though it would open up a whole new market for retention holsters....

I mentioned on Twitter last week that my "equipment" can't shoot hot lead at ~1100 feet per second, so I guess they're right, I am compensating for penile inadequacy. If my dick could do that I suppose I wouldn't need guns.

Also, what's with the anti's fixation only on penis? Why aren't anti-gunners claiming that women who carry do so because their breasts are too small or their booty isn't as ample as they'd like?

Tactical Everything

Breda and Uncle review tactical undies. Tactical seems to be the buzzword of the day, even tactical wind!

It seems to me that tactical just means expensive. $25 for one pair of boxers?! They'd better do a hell of a lot more than just keep my junk in place for that price. I'll stick with 3 packs of cotton boxers from Costco. Of course if I never wore pants I might actually need tactical boxers.

Also, if they were truly tactical wouldn't the only available colors be black, olive drab, and FDE?

I'll admit that despite the price I'm a little curious what all the fuss is about. They might be nice to have when I go running in the middle of the summer.

*Oh joy, another post that I forgot to hit "publish" on....

Quote of The Day - Picking Fights?

"When Dr. King would March people would travel from all around to march with him. Go figure, those N***ers just cruising around the country looking to "pick fights" with decent white-folks."

- Weer'd in comments here.

Weer'd was responding to this post by a vile, nasty bigot complaining that mean old gun owners came to his little corner of the internet to "pick a fight" with him. Anti-gunners consistently see any dissent as inherently threatening and malicious. They just can't stand to have their bigotry challenged.

Also, as usual we see an anti-gunner writing numerous posts advocating violence & death upon those who disagree with him and dare exercise their rights.

I have about as much respect for people like this as I'd have for those who assaulted peaceful blacks holding "sit-ins." They are bigots who caused a disturbance where there was none. According to his post his wife seems like quite the tolerant progressive as well.....

This part of his post deserved a quote,

"I recently moved here from California, and I can't believe what these people get away with."

People in Arizona have rights protected by the Constitution. I can understand how a California liberal could fail to understand that. I suppose when you're a liberal from California your brain can't even comprehend simple concepts like "freedom" and "rights."

Arizona has Constitutional carry, that is, citizens may carry firearms in accordance with the Constitution and without a permission slip from the nanny state. When you're a nanny-stater the lawful exercise of individual liberty is instead viewed as "what these people get away with."

Y'know. If they despise freedom so much they can always go back to California, or even better, move to Europe.

Nostalgia

I'm moving at the end of the month, so right now instead of posting I'm digging through a bunch of accumulated old crap. (and chauffeuring mom around after her surgery)

Anyway, I stumbled upon this old folded up piece of paper shoved between some old textbooks and thought I'd share it with you all. I can't believe I still have it. I'd forgotten about this old bet! Names and signatures have been removed for privacy.

We played a lot of horse when I was younger, though without any of the numbered variations shown at the Wikipedia link. I remember dad having to ice his knees 7+ years ago after 1-on-1's and sometimes simple games of horse. Nowadays, with his knees, back issues and his heart condition it's just not something we do anymore.

Looking back I do wish we'd made the bet for his 65th birthday instead of his 75th. If he's still around at 75 we might both be old enough to make it a laughable exhibition.

Perhaps I should see if dad wants to amend it to his 65th and we'll sign the amended copy. If we can get on some full-sized hardwood dad's got no shot the moment I step behind the 3-point line. I may have a bad wrist and can no longer palm the ball, but I've still got a shooter's touch. Then again I guess I did get that from dad. I'd bet money he's still got it too.

BB & Guns Tonight! - What is Gunniedom?

Don't forget to join Breda and guest host Weer'd on tonight's BB & Guns @ 7 PM. They'll be talking about "gunniedom" and how being a gun owner changes you. This is actually a topic I've been wanting to write about for a while now and never got around to it. Go figure. I'd love to call in on this one.

I won't be able to call in tonight as I'm staying late at work again, but YOU should call in and ask Weer'd what he thinks of .357 SIG.

From The Darkness...

....A new light emerges. Go read Brigid's latest. Do it now! You won't be disappointed.

That's all. I have nothing to add.

Sigh

Y'know, my stress level would be a thousand times lower if other people would just do what they're supposed to do. Instead I waste time that could be spent doing billable work and run around like a chicken with my head cut off during my lunch hour.

But hey, at least my mom is doing much better and I'm taking a mental health day tomorrow.

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Mall Ninja!

You might be a mall ninja if..... you think .357 SIG is the one, true caliber. (right Weer'd?)

You are definitely a mall ninja if you wear tactical underwear. ;)

The obvious question then is, are you a mall ninja if you don't wear pants?

I'm guessing that even without tactical pants you could still be a mall ninja if you're decked out in a tactical jacket, tactical underwear, rails, and most importantly, tactical Starbucks.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Apparently Massachusetts and the Federal government think we should be throwing money at unemployed homeowners. Giving interest-free mortgage loans from the government to people who have no capacity to pay them back sounds like a splendid idea! I wonder what the loss rate on these loans will be?

Remind me again what got us into this whole godawful mess? This is the very definition of Insanity.

I can't even get the NRA to give me wheelbarrows of cash, so how am I going to get the government to give me some of this "free money?" Obviously I'm doing something wrong here.

That said, I thinik it would've been cheaper in the long run for the government to do this for every single struggling homeowner rather than bailout the banks. No worries though, Uncle Sam has plenty of money to go around.

Texas Shooting - "The System Worked"

"I'd just point out that the only person who's been killed has been the shooter,"... "I think the situation might be a lot more chaotic and a lot more deadly if a number of students had tried to go in and be heroes." "The system worked."

- John Woods - UT Grad Student

The system worked?

Just like most campus shootings, this one was stopped by a man with a gun. The only reason a large number of students weren't shot is because Colton Tooley didn't intend to kill them. Tooley's decision not to walk around killing his fellow students was the only thing that kept others safe.

The system didn't "work." University of Texas students got lucky, nothing more. A locked down college campus, huddled in a building, unarmed and unable to leave is the last place I ever want to be if there's an active shooter running around.

I don't know what's wrong with all of these "No Guns Allowed" signs posted at universities across the nation. Perhaps they should ask for their money back, since obviously the signs aren't working as advertised.

We Are All Socialists Now?

Last year Newsweek said, "We Are All Socialists Now". They were wrong. In reality the only Socialists in this great country are a bunch of loons on the left.

A bunch of socialist bums decided to hold a sad little protest over the weekend.

One might say the lefty protest this past weekend was as pathetic as the anti-gun protest we witnessed in Charlotte.

If the American Left really wants European style Socialism they're better off just moving to any number of European countries and leaving the greatest, most free nation on earth the hell alone. Socialism was, is, and always will be fundamentally incompatible with individual liberty.

Zombie Flicks

I'm a big fan of zombie movies, but Zombie Strippers was not worth it.

Even guns, zombies, full nudity, Jenna Jameson and a UFC cameo couldn't save this movie from godawful acting.

Taking A Break

Obama thinks he needs another vacation. I think he should take Congress along with him. America could use a break from all of them.

“I’d appreciate a little break and some Tuscan sun,” “Some pasta. I can use it.”

Also, don't worry Barry. You and Michelle only have 840 days left living in the White House "in hell" on the taxpayers' dime. If it's too unbearable you can always do America a favor and resign.

Hooray Beer!

One of the Sah'Tea's for Breda since she asked for a bottle. The others are my present to my sister for her 24th.
